Thieving into Fall. My Guide to Escaping Germs.

Thieves to the rescue! For EVERYTHING!!! If you haven’t yet heard of Thieves – hang on.   I know it was a massive game changer over here. It made family members believers. It made me a true believer! Our house is full of it now and we couldn’t be happier.

According to the long-told historic tale…. The use of thieves oil dates alllll the way back to the year 1413. The time of the infamous Bubonic Plague (aka Black Death) that devastated a large portion of France. The Black Death spread like wild-fire among  citizens the doctors alike. It seemed impossible to be in the vicinity without contracting it, and at the time, the sickness really did mean ultimate demise. During this time, however, four thieves were captured and charged for stealing from the sick and dying. The thieves never contracted the plague, despite the close contact with the Black-Death victims. At this time, the crime these 4 men committed was punishable by burning alive. The judge was so intrigued by how these men had stayed immune to this terrible disease, that he told them if they shared their secret he would spare them of this punishment. The thieves told the judge their secret: they were perfume & spice merchants who were unemployed due to the closure of the sea ports and the devastation of the plague. They had prepared an essential oil recipe that when applied to their hands, ears, temples, feet & a mask over their mouths, kept them safe from infection. The judge stayed true to his word. The men were not burned alive, but instead they were hanged for their crimes.

Traditional Thieves Oil is a blend of 5 essential oils:

Thank goodness we don’t need to use this to fight off the actual plague, but knowing what it is capable of is amazing! The properties of each of these oils individually is pretty astounding but when you mix them together it’s a powerhouse combo that has worked for thousands of years.

Here are some of the ways that we have incorporated Thieves into our house!

Thieves Tea-! Young Living Thieves CAN be ingested, and we do! Add a drop in some honey to mix, add your favorite tea and enjoy the immune boosting health benefits!

Immune boosting roller rolled down my spine every single day. Twice on days someone at work shows up sick. It is a 10 ml roller bottle and it contains 10 drops of Thieves oil, 10 lemon, 10 Frankincense and 5 drops of oregano. Top that with a carrier oil (I use grape seed usually) and it’s ready to use!

Put a few drops on a cotton ball and tuck in your heat registers. Smells great at Christmas! *** Be careful if you have cats, this is NOT one that they should be exposed to with no escape.

Thieves cleaner – Young Living actually has an entire household line made with Thieves! You can get everything from laundry soap, house cleaner, toothpaste, mints and more! The more you can ditch and switch I s wear the healthier you will feel!!

Antibacterial spray for sports equipment! Febreeze is one of THE most toxic products found in pretty much every home. Get it out!! It’s so easy and SO CHEAP to make your own!
I think you get the idea of the amazing powers of Thieves! It isn’t difficult to throw out the oven cleaner, the bleach, the floor cleaner, the Windex, the room sprays, toothpaste, mouthwash AND the carpet cleaner…for one bottle that contains Thieves. Before I purchased any of the ready made Thieves products that Young Living has created,  I made my own where I could! Thieves essential oil, baking soda and vinegar is still the best over cleaner! Thieves in baking soda is a great carpet fresh. I made my own anti-bacterial mouthwash using Thieves essential oil. Not only are we removing products that contain chemicals but we are getting health benefits from the products we are currently using. I am a huge believer that this is the exact combo that is keeping us healthier! The ditch & switch.

Are you ready to ditch? Your body will thank you.
