To Thieves or not to Thieves??

The obvious answer for me? It think I make it pretty clear!

I am going to be perfectly honest, I am a Young Living member and leader. I will never try and sell you anything but I will wholeheartedly share my all natural ways (including my love of Young Living products) in this blog. If it has helped me or my family, I will tell you. If it has improved my quality of life, I will tell you. Period.

Moving on.

Legend has it a concoction of Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon Bark, Rosemary and Eucalyptus was used by a group of 15th century thieves who rubbed the botanicals on themselves to avoid contracting the plague while they robbed the bodies of the dead and dying. When apprehended, the thieves were given leniency in exchange for the secret recipe that kept them healthy. It’s history.

So if you have the chance to use products like toothpaste or soap or hand sanitizer that is made of products that are proven to aid in wellness instead of products that are labelled as allergy inducers or carcinogenics?!?!?!?! Wouldn’t you?!?!

It is a proven fact that our bodies ABSORB what we put on it in 26 seconds. Our lotion, make up, dish soap; anything we use is in our bloodstream in 26 seconds. It is a fact that on average a woman puts over 300 chemicals in to her system before she even leaves the house. Those 300 chemicals are slowing us down. Impeding pregnancies. Giving us allergies. Giving us cancer. Disrupting hormones. So if we have the knowledge to make a better choice…why wouldn’t we?

It’s hard!! Those pretty labels in the fun bottles are shoved down our throats in stores, on tv, in our mailbox!  We can’t get away from the advertising gurus that work for the companies that would not exist if we stopped buying their garbage! Society has made it hard for us to find the right information to protect ourselves! Society, greed and big pharma are making us sick. Literally and figuratively.

My husband currently has one of the worst mancolds he has had in a very long time. He used to get sick ALOT. He’s a teacher. It’s inevitable. Once we started using better products we weren’t getting sick as often and  when we did, it was never as bad as it used to be. It’s been two years since he has had a cold this awful and he’s had it for two weeks. I’m still (*knock on fricking wood) not sick. Thieves tea** for us both. Thieves essential oil in the diffuser. I use Thieves cleaner to disinfect the house. Thieves hand sanitizer because…germs. I’m not saying we’re perfect and I will never get sick. What I AM saying is it sure feels dammed empowering when you make a choice for wellness that is better for not only you, but for the environment and is a sustainable entity for the future. Plant based rocks and I will continue to shout it from the rooftops!!!

How easy is to make Thieves tea? In 1 tsp of honey add 1 drop of Thieves Vitality Oil and 2 drops of Lemon oil to your favorite tea and enjoy! The oil absorbs in to the honey, otherwise oil and water don’t mix well!

**(this is where I remind you that I use Young Living which is 100% ingestible. I cannot and do NOT vouch for ingesting any other brand)**

Looking back and realizing how often we were both sick and how little it happens now is amazing. Choosing to live cleaner lives has made a huge difference.

So what’s with these herbs that helps our immune system? Let’s break down Thieves.

Clove has a long history in natural wellness. It’s anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antioxidant to name just a few. Dentists used it to numb gums. True story.

Cinnamon Bark is antibacterial, antiviral, anti fungal and anti-inflammatory.

Rosemary is anti-inflammatory, antitumoral, anti-fungal, anticancer, and so much more! Inhaling it helps mental clarity too!

Lemon is an amazing antiseptic and aids in the combat of tumor growth.

Eucalyptus is antibacterial, antiviral and anti-inflammatory.

Combine those all together no wonder the plague stayed away!! It smells amazing. It tastes great and makes your house smell warm and cozy. SO you choose how you want to disinfect you house…Thieves or bleach.

I choose Thieves.
